Boreham Wood Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of forward Kabongo Tshimanga on a two-year deal, with the option of a further year.
The signing we feel is a huge one for the club after Tshimanga had attracted major interest from sides at our level and in the Football League following his recent goal scoring exploits.
Tshimanga, 21, joins The Wood from National League South side Oxford City where he thumped in a very impressive 37 goals in all competitions in 2018/19. The red-hot marksman concluded the campaign by being awarded Managers Players, Players’ Player and Fans Player of the Year.
Last season he burst onto the main stage of the Emirates FA Cup when scoring a stunning hat-trick away at Tranmere Rovers back in November 2018 catching the eye of many.
Rewinding back in time slightly, Tshimanga started his career at MK Dons making his full debut in November 2014 before going on to sign his first professional contract just two months later.
“I’m just happy to finally get the deal over the line” stated Tshimanga.
“I’m looking to come here and get similar stats as to what I got last season and I’m confident in doing so.”
Manager Luke Garrard said: “Kabby is a player that really excited myself and the Chairman and we both felt at this stage of his development that he really does need to play and not sit warming the bench at say an Football League club. This is a signing of intent for our football club and along with some other great bits of business we’ve done, gives me good reason to look forward to the coming season”.
Welcome to the club, Kabongo!
