READING VISIT MEADOW PARK FOR YOUTH FIXTURES

16 August 2012

Following the announcement of their exclusive partnership, Boreham Wood’s PASE Scheme welcomed their Premier League friends from Reading FC to Meadow Park for two Pre Season Friendlies between their respective Under 16’s and Under 18’s.

The tightly fought affairs, played side by side on the First Team pitch and the adjacent 3G Astro pitch, resulted in the schemes sharing the honours with Wood’s Under 16’s victorious 3-2, whilst the Under 18’s were edged 2-0. With a notable outstanding performance from Third year Harvey Scott-Morris.

The partnership was also celebrated just a fortnight ago when ‘Wood’s’ Senior side hosted a Reading XI in a Pre Season Friendly. Following an early goal from Reading, ‘Wood’ rallied and equalized through Youth Team prospect Robert Hastings, however ‘Wood’ were caught napping with moments remaining and handed Reading a 2-1 victory.

This partnership recognizes the hard work and progress at BWFC and creates not only close ties, but also creates exclusivity with the Elite of Boreham Wood’s PASE Scheme players and will involve a plethora of other initiatives.

With the continued investment of Boreham Wood FCs Chairman and under the supervision of PASE Manager Billy Hunter, Academy Director Luke Garrard and Head Coach Mario Noto, the PASE Scheme have achieved incredible success. This includes winning National and regional titles whilst producing 8 England Internationals at Schools and College level over the last 3 years.

We have also progressed boys to play in our First Team at Conference South Level and beyond. Pelly Ruddock recently signed for West Ham United and across the board we now have PASE graduates at all levels of the Football League, Non-League and a number of players who have won scholarships to the USA.
