PLAYER UPDATE

8 April 2012

Ahead of Monday’s home fixture to Staines Town, Boreham Wood are delighted to announce that front men Inih Effiong and Simeon Akinola have been recalled from their current respective loan clubs, Chesham United and Harrow Borough, to add fire power to the Wood front line in the final four games of the season.

Whilst out on loan, both Inih and Simeon have been in menacing form. Inih scored 5 in 7 for the Berksire club as they look to secure a Southern Premier League play off place, whereas Simeon scored 4 goals in his last 4 Borough games, including a brace away at East Thurrock and a 92nd minute winner at home to Met Police, which has gone a long way to help Harrow Borough remain in the Ryman Premier.

Everyone at Boreham Wood welcomes both boys back to Meadow Park ahead of the last four games of this Blue Square Bet South season, and hope they can add to their recent impressive goal tallies as the Wood look to maintain a top 10 finish.

More player news ahead of Woods Easter Monday game at home to Staines Town includes the return of playing assistant manager Luke Garrard from suspension, as well as the possible return of Centre Midfield partner Sam Cox who suffered a concussion away at Dover 8 days ago. Furthermore, Mario Noto is creeping ever closing to a return to full fitness after suffering a hamstring strain at home to Eastbourne a fortnight ago, so Woods Club Captain could feature as early as this weekend at home to Farnborough.
