Boreham Wood Football Club are thrilled to announce the signing of attacking midfielder Piero Mingoia from Accrington Stanley.

Mingoia, 27, joins the club with a wealth of experience having accumulated over 200 appearances in the Football League for the likes of Watford, Accrington Stanley, Cambridge United and Morecambe.

The diminutive attacking midfielder returns to Meadow Park having played nine times for the club whilst on loan from Watford back in 2013. He spent the back end of the 2018/19 campaign on loan at League Two side Morecambe making 16 appearances.

“I’m very excited to be back at Boreham Wood” stated Mingoia.

“After speaking to the people at the club, I was sold in terms of what they are aiming to achieve and hopefully I can contribute in a big way.

“It’s an ambitious club and that was important to me going somewhere where people push their standards as high as possible.

“I like to work hard and get on the ball as much as possible, try and enjoy myself, create some goals as well as score them too.

Manager Luke Garrard commented on the exciting acquisition: “We obviously know Piero as a player and a person from his time at the club a few years ago.

“We’ve seen him grow as an individual and he’s gone and had a superb career in the Football League. We’ve got ourselves a very talented individual that can create and score goals and we knew that was something we had to improve upon from last season.

“Piero will no doubt aid and contribute to the group and we hope he is very successful here.”

Welcome back to the Wood, Piero!
