This week we have had the opportunity to catch up with dressing room and fans favourite Ben Nunn on his trip around the globe. Ben has travelled much since leaving London in late September.
His journey so far has seen him visit 17 different places, across 5 different Asian countries including Hong Kong, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. Currently Ben and his girlfriend Sam are back in Bangkok, Thailand before heading off to the Thai Islands.
Here is a look at Ben’s journey so far…
Here is a short interview we had with Ben…
You have spent the last couple of months traveling with your girlfriend Sam, how are you finding it?
We are having the time of our lives. Everyday brings something new. Creating so many memories in such a short space of time. We’re also learning so much through all the history in different countries and cultures. Don’t want it to end.
What is the favourite place you have visited and why?
Every place brings something totally different so I don’t think we have one particular favourite so far.
Where else do you have planned to visit?
Next stop is to the Thai Islands, work our way down to Singapore, Bali then on to Australia just in time for Christmas and New Year.
Is there anything you really wanted to do but have had the chance to so far?
We have been very fortunate and managed to get everything done so far, it’s been tiring trying to get so much done in such a short space of time. Have to get a lot of night buses so we don’t lose time, which are usually 12-hour journeys.
When can the Wood fans expect to see you back in a Wood shirt?
I haven’t got an exact date yet but I will be looking forward to playing again when I do return, and continue pushing for promotion!
Do you have a message for the players for the upcoming games against Wealdstone and Maidenhead?
Come on ‘Wood’ lets get a win,
Put Wealdstone and Maidenhead in the bin,
Back four must stay strong,
Rusty don’t always go long,
Midfield keep the fire roaring,
So the boys up top can keep on scoring!
We’re gunna champagne spray,
On the seasons last day,
When we’re lifting the cup,
Because the ‘Wood’ are Going up!
1, 2, 3, BEARS!!! (Mario has do the 1, 2, 3).
Is traveling something you recommend to do? Is there anything you would change about your trip so far?
I know the Chairman, Gaffer and Luke won’t like this but I would recommend it to anyone! So anyone that doesn’t play for Boreham Wood, you should do it! So far we have been pretty organised and kept to what we wanted to do but I’m sure by the end there maybe some things we would have done differently.
In all seriousness, best of luck to the boys! Very much following every step while I’m not there! Miss everyone at the club! Keep up the hard work and remain consistent… Don’t be nearly men!
