danny-woodards

Following hot on the heels of last weeks news that David Stephens has penned a contract extension at Meadow Park. We are delighted to announce that Danny Woodards has also extended his stay at Meadow Park until the end of the 2017/18 season.

Woody who can operate anywhere along the backline, will remain at Meadow Pak for a third season. He was in both the managers and supporters calculation, a real driving force in our quest against relegation last season and as such his performances this season and loyalty have once again been rewarded.

This year Woody’s versatility has been demonstrated on plenty of occasions and he has been key to Luke Garrard recently, even popping up with the all important equaliser at Eastleigh in injury time at the back end of last year.

On completing the deal, Luke Garrard said “Danny is a great guy, a model pro and with him also coaching at the club, I was always hopeful he’d want to stay. He is such a good reader of the game, he’s very reliable and he’s part of a very mean defence no matter where I play him and part of a good squad, that will over time only get better”.
