MOKE DEPARTS CLUB

3 November 2016
2016 Adrian Moke

Boreham Wood Football Club wish to announce, that we have allowed Adriano Moke to sign off his current contract, and sign for fellow National League club York City.

Wood Manager Luke Garrard explained the decision to allow him to leave, just three days before our FA Cup tie against Notts County. By saying, “Adriano left Wrexham and moved down to London in the summer. Unfortunately for me, the club and our supporters, he has just never settled in the Barnet area and in truth he was missing his young daughter”.

“He has acted very professionally throughout and came to see me about his dilemma six weeks ago. He explained his position and asked me if he could perhaps look for a club nearer to his daughter”..

“As a dad I totally understood his predicament and understood that he was missing his young daughter. She still lives in the Leeds area, and being away from her was clearly affecting him. So with our injury list now more manageable and with his old Manager Gary Mills recently taking over up at York, things progressed quite quickly this week”.

After a quick discussion with myself and the Chairman. We both felt that we had to do what was best for the player and could not deny him the chance to be closer to his daughter. So we’ve allowed him to sign off on his contract, and we wish him the very best of luck in the future”..
