This Wednesday Wood are in action on the road looking for the point that will mathematically ensure safety after a stop start year. We have lost just two games in our last ten in all competitions, one of those last Saturday’s disappointing defeat to Whitehawk.

Our opponents have done magnificently whilst forced to catch up in the league, forcing themselves to the edge of the play off’s with games in hand over both Dover Athletic and Ebbsfleet United who currently occupy the last two play off berths. A win against Bishops Stortford tonight and us on Wednesday would see them rise to fourth in the table.

Amazingly The Hawks played thirteen matches in the month of March, an average of  a game every 2.38 days ( how do you do that?) and find themselves on the cusp of extending their arduous season even further.

Of our last four games at time of writing there are still issues to be solved involving three of them involving our opponents. Havant’s push for the play off’s, Hayes and Yeading United’s bid for survival and of course the last game of the season when we visit Champion’s elect Eastleigh. However they need just four points from their last four games, coincidentally one of which involves The Hawks visiting Westleigh Park.

Without doubt Havant are one of the best sides we have faced this season, their 0-2 victory at Meadow Park one that Ian and the boys will be keen to avenge, as we look to finish the season on a high. Given our magnificent goals scored record, the fourth best in the League, only bettered by the top three sides there is no reason why we cannot climb the table even further!

However we will need to be at our very best with so much at stake and your support will be needed!

Come on you Wood!

Wednesday April 16th.
