Ebbsfleet United v Boreham Wood
Saturday 30 September 2023, 3.00pm

Kuflink Stadium, Vanarama National League

The Wood will be looking to take all three points tomorrow afternoon after a positive performance on Tuesday evening but unable to leave AFC Fylde with a win. With the signing of Matt Robinson on loan from Woking being announced today and more players returning from injury, Luke Garrard will be taking a strong squad to the Kuflink Stadium.

Ebbsfleet United were promoted from the National League South last season as dominant champions finishing on 103 points, 20 points better than second place finishers, Dartford. They have had an ok start to life in the National League with 13 points from their opening 12 games as they currently sit 16th in the table one position higher than Boreham Wood.

The Fleet are currently in a poor run of form having not won a game in their last five. Within those five fixtures they have only scored three goals and conceded ten.

On Tuesday evening they welcomed Dorking Wanderers to the Kufflink Stadium and succumbed to a 1-0 defeat after a second half goal from Harry Ottaway.

Prior to that game they were on the back of a heavy defeat to Altrincham, losing 6-1.

Their other results in the last five include a 1-1 draw away to Woking, a 1-0 loss at home to Chesterfield and a 2-1 loss away to Wealdstone.

Jack Payne played for Ebbsfleet United during the 2017/18 and 2018/19 season. Making a total of 57 appearances for the Fleet, while also going out on loan to Eastleigh in 2018.

The midfielder signed for Boreham Wood at the beginning of last season and has made an instant impact, controlling the midfield and playing over 50 games already. Last season he was awarded for his efforts as he picked up Manager’s player of the season and runner up in the Supporter’s player of the season.
