After exiting the FA Trophy 3rd Qualifying Round last Saturday against Concord Rangers. The Wood return to the bread and butter of the league this Saturday against Hayes and Yeading United.

After losing to the Wood at their current home of York Road just last month, Hayes went on great run which included a fantastic win away to promotion chasing Ebbsfleet United followed by credible draws against Sutton United and Chelmsford City before narrowly losing against fellow promotion side Bromley.

Hayes have since lost their last three league games on the spin with their last coming in the away win to Ebbsfleet. As we all know in the Conference South any team on their day can beat anyone.

Their most recent result though was a comprehensive and confidence boosting 6-0 victory over Horsham in the FA Trophy.

Manager Phil Babb has added a couple of new additions to his squad. In come Full Back Mason Spence, Goalkeeper Grant Smith and Striker Isaac Layne who joins on Loan from Southend United.

New signing Layne got off to the perfect start by bagging a brace in the FA Trophy.

Wood find themselves in fine form in the league having gone unbeaten in November. After Saturdays Trophy exit and with several key players due to sit out Tuesdays Herts Senior Cup game Gaffer Ian Allinson should have a fresh and fully fit squad to choose from as the side look to take Novembers form into December.

Allinson has also heaped praise on the growing Wood Army for the sides fine form in November. “Your vocal support was key in turning a draw into a victory and long may your fantastic support continue”.

With a big three points at stake on Saturday come down to Meadow Park and cheer on Ian Allinson and his troops on.
