Following Saturday’s postponement against Sutton United, we host Basingstoke Town at Meadow Park in which will be our first game in 10 days.
Last out was a great performance against Dover Athletic where on another day we would have taken all three points.
Basingstoke have had a mixed season to date and sit comfortably in mid table. On our visit to the Camrose earlier in the season Wood came away pointless, after a defiant display an 85th minute own goal by Callum Reynolds gave the home side all three points.
Our home form has picked up of late with a 5-0 mauling of Dorchester Town followed up by a 2-2 draw against Dover Athletic. Wood will be going into the game full of confidence. Since our promotion to the conference south we are unbeaten at home to Basingstoke having won one and drawn two of the three games.
Greg Morgan has still one game of his three match ban to serve following his dismissal against Bishops Stortford.
The Gaffer has once again been backed in the transfer market by the Chairman who has pulled out all the stops to bring in Kudus Oyenuga on loan from SPL side Dundee United for the remainder of the season. Kudus could be in line to make his Wood debut, subject to international clearance.
The gaffer has a fully fit squad to choose from so with no football on Saturday get down to Meadow Park Monday evening to cheer your Town’s football club on.
Come On The Wood!!!
