IAN COMING TO SAY GOODBYE

22 October 2015
Gaffer

Ian Allinson is returning to Meadow Park this Saturday for the first time since his resignation.

He is coming to watch and cheer the Wood on in our FA Cup 4th qualifying round cup tie against AFC Hornchurch and will have a drink with our supporters and players after the game..

Ian said “I’ve been invited by the Chairman to be his guest on the day and it also gives me the opportunity to properly say goodbye to our fantastic supporters, who stood by me throughout both the good and the bad times”..

When asked if it would feel strange not being in the dug out on such a big cup day.. Wood’s ex gaffer said “Yes of course it will be strange, in fact I’m sure it will be bloody murder but I know Luke will have the boys well prepared on the day and they will all know their jobs and what’s expected”..

He concluded “Luke and the players will need the Town to turn out in force just like I did when we got to the 4th qualifying round. We need them to get right behind us and drive us on. If they do, if they get at it then the noise levels go up. The players then react to that and when the place rocks, we don’t tend to lose cup ties. I’m confident we’ll win and be in the hat on Saturday night and it would be great if we are, that we get one of the big boys come Monday’s draw”..

Can the fans please note; Boreham Wood Football Club are also producing a match day programme, with a five page tribute to Ian Allinson and his achievements, that will include four fantastic pages of pictures that cover so many wonderful memories.
