Boreham Wood FC are delighted to announce that Manager Luke Garrard has been named the Vanarama National League Manager of the Month for February.
Despite an indifferent month, with a record of two wins, a draw and two defeats, it was a historic month for the Club, becoming just the tenth side since the second World War to reach the FA Cup Fifth Round.
Luke Garrard and his FA Cup heroes defeated Championship highflyers AFC Bournemouth one goal to nil at the Vitality Stadium live on ITV, and in doing so captured the imagination and the hearts of the entire nation. We have since visited Goodison Park to take on 5-time FA Cup winners Everton in our Fifth Round tie, and depsite defeat, Garrard and his team left Merseyside with their heads held high, holding the Premier League side for nearly an hour with a incredibly industrious team effort.
Upon receiving this award, Luke Garrard said, “I’d like to congratulate everyone, for me it’s team of the month. I want to thank the fans because they play a huge part, as well as the club and the initiatives such as Ladies Day and giving people half price tickets. These are all big things that play a part in us getting wins here and being successful!”
