Boreham Wood FC are delighted to announce the re-signing of Wood Army favourite Jamal Fyfield on a 2-year deal following the expiration of his previous 2- year contract at the Club.

Centre-back Jamal arrived at Meadow Park in June 2018 and has since become a huge asset to the Club. Fyfield began his career at Leyton Orient, before departing to join National League competitor Maidenhead United, where he was named as their Young Player of the Year in 2009.

His performances at ‘The Magpies’ led to a move to York City, where he helped the Club into League Two. He later went on to make a further 30 appearances for ‘The Minstermen’ who were at that point an established Football League club. The versatile defender can also count Grimsby Town and Wrexham amongst his former clubs at National League level. Jamal has amassed well over 350 Football League and Non-League appearances to his name including 43 league appearances for the Wood in 2018/19, scoring 3 goals in his first season at Meadow Park.

Jamal Fyfield was also a part of the National League play-off squad that made it to the semi-finals in the 2019/20 season. The centre back who can also play left-back played a huge part both on and off of the field in creating this success. After going so close to promotion to League Two last season, recruitment this summer is key to maintaining growth within the club and squad.

Not only is Jamal a valuable individual on the pitch but also off the pitch as he offers a wealth of experience to our BW PASE academy players who are coached by Fyfield himself, as well as many other first-team players, allowing them to gain immeasurable advice and coaching.

First team manager Luke Garrard, as well as all staff at the club, are delighted to have secured such a strong player for the backline in Fyfield and we look forward to the upcoming seasons.

Welcome back to Meadow Park, Jamal!
