Match Preview

Wood play their eighth game of the campaign this Tuesday when they travel to headline grabbing Farnborough. The Boro have played just three matches this campaign due a late start that has hogged the headlines in the Non League world.

This will be just their second home fixture, their first resulting in a 1-0 against Dover Athletic in front of over 1000 fans. There followed two away fixtures, a 2-1 defeat at Havant and Waterlooville before an enthralling 3-3 draw at Sutton United. Our hosts were 1-2 ahead before finding themselves 3-2 down with five minutes remaining. They duly earned a valuable point through Josh Huggins with two minutes remaining.

With Farnborough currently below Wood on points there is an added incentive for Ian Allinson’s side to build upon their fine 2-0 victory against Gosport Borough and put some distance between the two sides. Wood will be hoping for a repeat of last seasons trip, which ended in a 0-3 victory with Greg Morgan amongst the goal scorers, a result which left us fourth in the table.

Tuesday September 17th kick off 7.45pm.

The Rushmoor Community Stadium, Cherrywood Road, Farnborough. GU14 8UD.
