Boreham Wood FC can confirm that our acclaimed BW PASE Academy and next seasons applicants have recently been a target of attempted fraudulent activity.

A person, or group, is attempting to falsely pose as the BW PASE Academy staff in an attempt to charge Academy hopefuls a £200 “administration fee” in order for our Academy to review their application.

The fraudulent activity both in this country and abroad, is in truth non-sophisticated in nature but unfortunately a number of Academy applicants have nearly fallen victim to their attempts to seek an administration fee.

We ask that all our Academy applicants watch out for either Fofana Korotoum or Boreham United on Facebook, as well as any WhatsApp messages from the following number +44 7488 867 157 and anyone who reads this article, re tweets it to ensure our students and the parents or guardians, especially during a pandemic are not duped to part with £200 due to this fraudulent behaviour.

Boreham Wood FC and our Academy staff would like to reiterate that our BW PASE Academy is completely FREE OF CHARGE; your course is free, your training kit is free and there are absolutely no administration fees attached to our education providers or your application process whatsoever.

The Police and Action Fraud have of course been notified, but we feel as a Club we should also warn our applicants and ask the general public of London and the Home Counties to help us, as we help build dreams and aspirations and would never ask for money from any applicant.

We will with your help catch these people, but in the meantime, we completely condemn the actions of these individuals, or group, who are targeting not only our incredible academy reputation but our young scholars by asking for monies in our name.

If you are concerned that you have been targeted by this individual or group, or if you have fallen victim to these fraudulent activities, please call the Police on 101.
