Boreham Wood Football Club are delighted to announce high-profile friendlies with Arsenal, a strong Crystal Palace XI, and AFC Wimbledon.

We will be welcoming Arsenal to Meadow Park on Saturday, July 14 (3pm), Luke Garrard’s former side AFC Wimbledon, on Saturday, July 28 (3pm) and a Roy Hodgson led Crystal Palace XI on Tuesday, July 31(7.45pm).

The fixtures will provide an exciting test for Luke Garrard’s side, as some of the Premier League’s, Championship’s and League One’s best players will take to the field at Meadow Park.

Away pre-season fixtures have also been confirmed with Barnstaple Town, on Thursday, July 19 (7.30pm) and Slough Town on Tuesday, July 24 (7.30pm).

Everyone at Boreham Wood would like to wish our old friend Mr Arsene Wenger a very fond farewell and thank him for the class, care and kindness that he has shown to us over the years.

But, this pre-season fixture now denotes the start of an exciting new era, and we want to congratulate both Arsenal and their supporters on the appointment of Unai Emery and also wish him all the very best for the future, with our long-standing and very loyal partners.

The Arsenal fixture against Boreham Wood will be Emery’s first match as the new manager of the Gunners, making it an absolutely unmissable tie. And, Arsenal have confirmed that the squad will feature players who are not participating in the World Cup to be involved.

Tickets the game are now officially on sale and with the new Arsenal gaffer in the technical area, we anticipate a sell-out.

Managed by Neal Ardley, Wimbledon further cemented themselves as a recognized League One outfit this campaign, with an 18th placed finish, following their climb up the divisions.

Wood manager Garrard made 100 appearances for the Dons, during a four-year stint with the now League One outfit.

A cult hero at Kingsmeadow, Garrard will no doubt be excited to take on his former side.

Currently, our final pre-season friendly will then be against a Crystal Palace XI and we are told that the side will be led by former England, Liverpool and Inter Milan boss Roy Hodgson.

Hodgson led The Eagles to an 11thplaced finish in the Premier League last season, having taken over in September 2017.

With the likes of Yohan Andros Townsend, Wilfred Zaha, Christian Benteke and Mamadou Sakha all potentially available for Palace, it looks set to be another unmissable pre-season friendly.

Tickets for our friendlies with a Crystal Palace XI, Brentford and AFC Wimbledon, will be available to purchase on the day – prices will be confirmed at a later date.
