MEADOW PARK NEW HOME FOR YOUNG GUNS

Boreham Wood are absolutely delighted to announce that on top of the recent 10 year deal we signed in January 2013 with Arsenal Ladies and with the clubs New West Stand build having just began a few days ago on July 15th.. That a brand new 3 year contract has also been agreed and signed with Arsenal Football Club.

The agreement will allow Arsenals next crop of International youngsters to play the majority of their Development league, FA Youth Cup and the inaugural U/19 Champions league group games, at our home here in Meadow Park.

Following on from months of discussion between the two clubs, contracts were finally signed on Saturday prior to Boreham Wood FC playing against an Arsenal XI, in what has now become an annual fixture between the clubs.Main Stand

Chairman Danny Hunter said “We really have worked very hard with Arsenal in recent months to improve our facilities and come up with an exciting list of initiatives for supporters. It is welcome news not only for our football club but for local people, for local shopkeepers and for our local economy, as we look to attract supporters to our town from all over the country”.

Hunter continued “It will be fantastic for all our supporters and especially the many Arsenal fans in and around Borehamwood. It’s going to be exciting to be able to watch the quality of football that will be on offer and Arsenals first U/21 Development league game at Meadow Park is a mouth watering prospect, as they will play against Manchester Utd on Tuesday 13 August

The new agreement will also include an opportunity for supporters to watch Arsenals young Internationals compete in the U/19 Champions League group, subject to qualification in August, games at Meadow Park. All the clubs involved will mirror the senior Champions League at the group stages and will include all of Europe’s super clubs that include the like of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Milan to name but four.

However as an added bonus in these tough economic climes, both Arsenal and ourselves can announce to our community and our fans that entrance to these League and Cup games (except FA Youth Cup where rules dictate that an admission fee be charged) is ‘FREE OF CHARGE’..

arsenalpicWe have also agreed with Arsenal that we can produce for our Academy Structure and our Local Primary Schools a ‘FREE’ JOINT ARSENAL DEVELOPMENT SQUAD AND BWFC SEASON TICKET.. These season tickets will cover admission to league games and will only be made available to all our Academy players and Primary school children in the Borehamwood, Elstree, Radlett and Shenley areas who apply and it will allow ‘FREE’ entry into all of Boreham Woods Conference South league programme, Arsenals Development league fixtures and Arsenals Development Squad European games held at Meadow Park.
