Match preview: Tamworth (A)

27 February 2026

Tomorrow, Luke Garrard’s side are on the road for the second time within the space on a week as we lock horns with Tamworth, with kick-off at 15:00.

Last season for the Lambs

After securing consecutive promotions from the Southern League Premier Central Division and through the National League North, Andy Peaks’ side marked their return to step one of the non-league pyramid with a 10th-placed finish.

Most notably however, they took Tottenham Hotspur to extra-time in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup, but the Premier League outfit’s quality told in the end as the Lilywhites prevailed 3-0 victors.

One to watch

A stalwart in between the sticks for the Lambs since signing for the Staffordshire-based outfit back in the summer of 2018, Jas Singh has played an integral role in their successes over recent seasons including two promotions and a run to the third round of the Emirates FA Cup.

Having played most of his career for various non-league sides of the midlands, including Solihull Moors Kidderminster Harriers, the 35-year-old has found a home for himself at the Lamb Ground, having made over 300 appearances in a Tamworth strip.

The Wood

It was an evening to remember in South East Essex on Tuesday evening as we travelled to fellow promotion hopefuls Southend United and returned to Hertfordshire with a 2-0 win. Abdul Abdulmalik opened the scoring in emphatic fashion with a sublime strike on 11 minutes before Matt Rush netted his 16th goal of the season with 15 minutes of regulation time to go.

Previous meetings

When the Lambs visited Meadow Park back in November, they came away with a narrow 2-1 victory, only the second time the Wood had experienced a home loss at that stage of season. Matt Rush broke the deadlock on 20 minutes before Ben Milnes equalised from the spot nine minutes later. Tamworth would then complete a perfect away performance 18 minutes from time when Manny Duku gave them the lead.
