Management team line-up confirmed

13 June 2025

With pre-season kicking off for players and staff in just over a fortnight’s time, Boreham Wood FC are now in a position to confirm Luke Garrard’s backroom team ahead of the club’s eagerly anticipated return to the National League.

The club is saddened to inform the Wood Army faithful that club legend Mark Ricketts will not be continuing in his role as Assistant Manager for the 2025/26 season. ‘Ricko’ returned to Meadow Park in the summer of 2024, joining Ross Jenkins’ backroom team as Assistant Manager and continued in that role upon Luke Garrard’s return to the hotseat in September. Mark further etched his name in Boreham Wood history during his second spell at Meadow Park, this time the other side of that white line, as a critical member of the club’s backroom team that orchestrated Wood’s return to the National League at the first time of asking.

Mark departs Meadow Park as one of club’s greatest servants ever as player, captain and Assistant Manager, with the club forever indebted to Mark for his incredible service to Boreham Wood Football Club over many years. We thank Mark sincerely for his efforts during the 2024/25 season and wish both him and his family the very best for the future. Mark will forever be welcomed back to Meadow Park in the future as a club legend.

Following internal discussions between Chairman Danny Hunter and First Team Manager Luke Garrard, the club are pleased to announce that Jack Payne will be stepping into the role as Assistant Manager for the upcoming season, which he will couple with his playing duties as player-Assistant Manager. The club can confirm that as a consequence of Jack’s transition into Luke’s backroom team, he will also relinquish captaincy, and the club will select a new team captain ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Completing Luke Garrard’s backroom team are Ross Weare (First Team Coach), Brandon Bevans (Lead Physical Performance Coach), Cav Costi (Lead Analyst) and Ciaran Pack (Senior Therapist.)

Ross enters his second full season with the First Team and couples his role as Head Academy Coach, maintaining the club’s long-standing synergy between First Team and Academy. Brandon enters his fifth season with the club as he continues to develop the club’s strength and conditioning programmes across both the First Team and Academy. Cav enters his first full season as Lead Analyst, having previously worked part-time with the club’s First Team, as well as an intern analyst during his university days. Lastly, the club welcomes back Senior Therapist Ciaran Pack to Meadow Park. Ciaran departed Meadow Park last summer for Scunthorpe United, overseeing the medical provision at Glanford Park as the Iron also sealed their return to the National League via the National League North play-offs. Welcome back, Ciaran.
