Boreham Wood Football Club can confirm that Jon Benton has departed the club following the mutual cancellation of his contract, enabling Jon to pursue an alternative career opportunity that requires him to step away from full-time football.
Jon joined the Wood from Solihull Moors in November of last year and quickly established himself as a valued member of the squad, making a strong impression both on and off the pitch through his professionalism, commitment and consistency during his time at Meadow Park, which spanned just over a year.
A key part of Luke Garrard’s promotion-winning side last season, Jon played an important role in helping the club secure a return to the National League at the first time of asking. Jon’s dedication extended into the first half of the current season, and his contributions were evident across an unforgettable 2024/25 campaign that will live long in the memory of everyone connected with the club.
