Boreham Wood Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of 19-year-old goalkeeper Ted Curd, who joins the Wood on loan from Premier League side Chelsea until the end of the season.
Curd has been part of Chelsea’s academy setup since the age of nine, progressing steadily through the youth ranks at Cobham before signing his first professional contract with the Blues in February of 2023. The England youth international impressed during a loan spell with Hashtag United, earning the Man of the Match award on his league debut against Kingstonian in September 2023. He went on to make 16 appearances and kept four clean sheets before being recalled by Chelsea in January 2024.
Curd spent the first half of the 2024–25 campaign on loan at Hampton & Richmond Borough, featuring in the National League South before returning to Stamford Bridge in January. On the international stage, Curd has represented England at under-17 level, featuring at the 2023 UEFA European Under-17 Championship and earning selection for the FIFA U-17 World Cup later that year. He has since progressed to the England under-19s, making his debut against Portugal in October of last year.
A confident and composed goalkeeper with sharp reflexes and impressive distribution, Curd looks to add further quality to Luke Garrard’s squad. We are thrilled to welcome Ted to Boreham Wood Football Club and look forward to seeing him in action between the sticks at the Mangata Developments Stadium Meadow Park!
