YOUNG WOOD BOW OUT 2-0

4 November 2011

Following another fine cup performance and win in the last round of the FA Youth Cup against Billericay Town, ‘Wood’s’ Under 18’s travelled to Thurrock in the 1st Round Proper.

In a closely fought tie, that Wood always edged, they finally succumed to a set piece with 12 minutes remaining and a second deep into injury time, as they desperately chased the game.

Manager Luke Garrard said “I thought we were outstanding, but we didn’t take our chances. The players couldn’t of given any more, and in Pelly Ruddock, we had the evenings best player. We must now react to our 1st defeat of the season in the correct manner, and I wish Thurrock well in the next round”.
