Whilst Luke Garrard was masterminding a 2-1 victory at Bromley on Tuesday night, The Vics were helping themselves to another scalp from higher opposition and in some style! Jim Gannon rested three of his side that earned a 1-1 draw at The Help For Heroes Stadium three days earlier against The Wood, but it did nothing to dent their progress in the League Cup . Up against Northern Premier opposition in the shape of Skelmersdale United, The Green and Whites delivered in some style, winning the game 1-6!

That makes it twenty wins out of twenty six competitive matches this season for the Cheshire outfit, who according to their assistant manager Dave Conlon, “ Have a fully fit squad and no suspensions at the moment due to our excellent disciplinary record, so we have almost two players for every position. The starting eleven is not weakened no matter what team is selected.”

Food for thought for Luke Garrard whose excellent use of his available squad helped to mastermind that important and impressive victory south of London last outing. On the opposition Garrard declared after last Saturday, “ They are in no way shape or form a Northern League Division One side. Their League position shows that as did their performance. I though they were the better side over 90 minutes and we are pleased to have another shot at them!”

With victories against Hyde United, also of the Northern Premier League and National League North Chorley already in the F A Cup this season, both away from home, Wood will need to be at their very best to earn the right to take on Second Division high flyers Northampton Town up at the Sixfields Stadium on December 5th.

Boreham Wood v Northwich Victoria.

Monday November 16th, kick off 7.45pm.
