Wood entertain Gateshead at Meadow Park this coming Saturday in what is the final home game of the season for Luke Garrards side.

Thankfully though this time around it doesn’t have the importance of a must win to have any chance of staying in the league – like against Guiseley this time last year. Although all games are important Luke Garrard and his side will have to play well if they are to pick up three points and have any chance of finishing inside the top 12.

After following the side up and down the country all season the supporters will be hoping for a performance, as it will be the last BWFC league game played on the current surface. Supporters coming back after the summer will see a fantastic new pitch along with various other summer improvements.

Gateshead make the long journey now outside the play-offs, at one stage it looked as though Neil Aspin and his side would make a late charge and maybe take the final play-off spot although that will now be contested between Dover and Aldershot.

It will be Gateshead’s 2nd visit to Meadow Park, having previously only played here back in October 2015 when they returned North with all 3 points. Wood who were trailing 2-0 managed to get themselves level only to concede a late late goal to deny a point.

With it being the final home game of the season we hope as many of the Wood Army faithful and the Town will come down and support Luke Garrard and his side.
