Boreham Wood’s Under 18s continued their outstanding run in the Southern Counties Floodlit League, with an impressive 5-1 win over AFC Dunstable.
The win was led by Skipper Jack Gibbs, who netted a hat-trick for his team, with some clinical finishing.
Dan Creese, who had recently returned from injury, broke the deadlock just 12 minutes in, netting past the Dunstable stopper from close-range, with a cool left-footed strike.
On the back of his time with England Colleges, Iliman Ndiaye was dominating the midfield and rose highest to meet Sam Walsh’s cross and head it into the back of the net.
Captain Jack Gibbs then scored his first and the Wood’s third of the night, getting onto the end of Alex Morgan’s corner and nodding the ball home.
The centre-back was in powerful form and met another cross by Morgan, this time volleying it past the helpless Dunstable stopper.
His hat-trick was completed just a few minutes later, when he glided Cheyce Grant’s whipped ball into the bottom corner.
Dunstable pulled a consolation goal back with just minutes remaining, but it would prove too little too late from the hosts.
