UNDER 16 CUP

‘Wood’s’ Under 16’s take on Hoddesdon Town tonight (Wednesday) at Boreham Wood FC, 7.30pm kick-off.

The Under 16’s enter the game with a 5-point advantage at the top of the league with just 3 games remaining. A win tomorrow night will almost clinch the league title for the young team, but they take on a talented and determined Hoddesdon Town outfit as they look to finish their season off on a high.

Hoddesdon Town currently sit 4th in the EJA Herts Division behind Boreham Wood, Biggleswade Town and Broxbourne Borough having won 7, drew 3 and lost 4 of their 14 leagues matches this season, as well as reaching the County Cup Semi-Final.

‘Wood’ come into the game after a devastating penalty shootout defeat in the Herts County Cup Final against Cheshunt on Sunday, following a 1-1 draw after extra time. However ‘Wood’ are looking to add the EJA Cup title they won the Sunday prior, as they take on Hoddesdon Town and Wingate & Finchley over the next 5 days to secure league glory.

Wood Under 16 Manager Cameron Mawer said “We were so unlucky on Sunday, but we have to dust ourselves off and push on now as we look to win the league. There is no better opportunity to do so just 3 days later under lights within the Stadium against a strong Hoddesdon side.

“It would be great if as many Wood fans can come to the game as possible to add the extra sense of occasion for the boys following their superb season to date.”

Admission is FREE to all spectators.
