Boreham Wood Football Club wish to announce that our young Midfield player Chez Isaacs, who has been offered re engagement terms. Has quite rightly been attracting interest from a number of professional clubs from Division 2 and from the Conference National.
Manager Ian Allinson said “I’ve spoken to Chez and his father at length and laid out the clubs plans. They know my wish is for him to remain with us for next season and he has been given an improved offer. After those conversations though, I’m now not hopeful that he will sign a new contract and be with us next season”
“Chez has now gone away on his holidays to consider his future and we will keep him abreast of all the clubs interested him. Though as we have continually demonstrated over the years, we are a club that is not in the business of standing in the way of our young players progress, if we believe it benefits them”
“Certain clubs have been mischievous in contacting Chez directly without our permission but that’s now part and parcel of the modern game and it is what it is. However people like John Still at Luton Town, still do their business the correct way and as you would expect from John, he has done everything right. He has watched the boy several times and contacted us asking for our permission to speak with chez, which we were only too glad to give”
“So I can assure our supporters and any would be clubs, that if Chez is to leave the club the compensation fee will rightly reflect the part we’ve played in his improvement and with the offers we’ve already received he will not leave this football club without the correct level of recompense”
Allinson concluded ” Chez is only 20 years of age, he’s getting stronger by the day. We’ve carefully nurtured him, we’ve educated and improved his knowledge of the game. He has been given a wonderful platform to develop his talent with us, he has played every minute of every game last season. He is popular in the dressing room, has a wonderful attitude, he trains well and he deservedly won both the Chairmans ‘player of the year’ and the Clubs prestigious ‘Young player of the year’ awards”
“So we are confident that if Chez does leave us that a fair deal can be done with whatever Club he chooses to go too, if not we will just have to go to an FA Tribunal”
