NON-LEAGUE DAY2

Non-League Day has quickly become one the most eagerly anticipated days on the Non-League calendar, and has rapidly grown in size since its inaugural year in 2010. It has become a standout day to attract new fans and put on Community events for home and away supporters.

Having enjoyed long away trips to Gosport Borough, Weston-Super-Mare and Salisbury City for our last 3 Non-League Day games, when the fixtures came out this year and revealed we would host Welling United on the 10th October in our first season in the new National League, we moved quickly to make a number of arrangements.

We are delighted to announce we have been chosen by Kick It Out as one of their four designated games on Non-League Day. Boreham Wood and Kick It Out will team up to help raise awareness of discrimination in football and raise awareness of the Non-League game. Kick It Out will visit Meadow Park on their whistle stop tour for Non-League Day prior to the game, and also be in attendance at the game to raise awareness.

Roisin Wood, Director of Kick It Out, commented “Kick It Out is delighted that Boreham Wood will be one of our dedicated games on Non League Day.”

“It is important that our messages of equality and inclusion in football reach across all levels of the game, and that is why we are such strong supporters of Non-League Day.”

“Boreham Wood is a club that embraces diversity and we hope it is a successful day on October 10.”

In addition to Kick It Out’s presence at the game, ‘Wood’ are equally delighted to announce that TalkSport and Ian ‘The Moose’ Abrahams will provide live updates and interviews with ‘Wood’ Gaffer Ian Allinson throughout the day. Local man ‘The Moose’ is renowned nationally from his live updates through TalkSport and his very own Twitter feed and we are delighted to welcome himself and TalkSport to Meadow Park to assist us on Non-League Day.

On top of this a number of ticket offers and other events are in place for the day, including: –

Premier League and Football League season ticket offer

All Premier League and Football League season holders will be given discounted rates to attend our game on Non-League day. Usually match day prices are set amongst the cheapest in the League at £16 for Adults, £12 for OAPS and £8 for Under 16’s, however with presentation of your Premier or Football League season ticket these will be slashed to £10 for Adults, £7 for OAPS and £5 for Under 16’s. Come down and see what National League football has to offer!

Community Coaching Session

Prior to the game 1-2pm, BWFC’s community coaches will be hosting a community coaching session full of fun games and matches. For just £2, participants get to play some fun football and also get a complimentary ticket for the game against Welling United that day (must be accompanied by a paying adult.) For children aged between 5-12 years old.

‘Wood’s’ Community Manager, Charlie Hunter, commented “We are delighted to have arranged our Non-League Day line-up with such Community involvement. I’d like to thank Kick It Out and TalkSport, in particular Richard Bates and Ian Abrahams, for their support on the day in advance.”

“Having had away games for Non-League Day for the previous 3 seasons, the Club and the Community Department in particular have been itching to get a home fixture on this day, so we are very excited.”

“We have arranged for fans clappers for the day, as well as the possibility of our fan involvement events to come… So we encourage all football fans to get down to Meadow Park to see what the National League has to offer!” Hunter concluded.
