Boreham Wood    4 – 0    Fleet Town

Saturday saw Wood Reserves keep yet another clean sheet and pick up three points with a convincing victory over Fleet Town.

It was testament to the strength of our “Under 19” Squad that we yet again performed to the highest standard.   Tony Walker returned to the side at centre back after his recent injury, along with Jean Khasa and Martin Flannery as full backs.    Trialist Ben Long started in centre midfield and Luke Lane impressed up front throughout.

A goalless first half was virtually dominated by Wood and it was only a matter of time before we broke the deadlock.

Two goals from Akinola, a good strike from George Hunter and another from the spot by Substitute Pelly Ruddock sealed the win.

Fleet Town came close late on and also missed a penalty of their own at 2 – 0 but never looked like troubling another dominant Wood performance.

Reserve Team Manager Ryan Kirby commented “The boys have put a fantastic run of results together and have shown tremendous strength, which has mirrored in our current League position.    We must now keep up this momentum as we enter the business end of the Season, we have some big games coming up in the next few weeks and need to keep putting the points on the board.”
