Last Thursday, 6th October 2011, Boreham Wood’s Under 18’s beat a competitive Bishop Stortford side to reach the Third Qualifying Round of the FA Youth Cup, where they will meet a fancied Billericay Town, who are current Essex champions.

‘Wood’ started the game brightly, missing a number of glorious chances to take the lead, including a penalty miss from Captain Harvey Scott-Morris. It took until the 40th minute for Skipper Harvey Scott-Morris to break the deadlock, after missing a great individual chance; he followed up to slot in the rebound.

The game remained 1-0, however the score was not a fair reflection of the game, with the stand out performance coming from Pelly Ruddock, who had a goal disallowed after the assistant referee deemed a Stortford player was fouled in the lead up to the goal.

Boreham Wood take on Billericay Town at Home, in an attempt to reach the First Round Proper, against the winners Thurrock or Hadleigh. The game will be played in the week commencing Monday 17th October 2011, Kick off 7.30pm.
