Boreham Woods U19s was again in National Cup Action this week, when they took to the field in the last 16 of the ECFA National Cup.

Following Boreham Woods penalty shootout Victory against the current holders Gower Swansea, they again faced though opposition in the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation.

Wood started bright with both Hastings and Sterling going close, Wood soon took the lead with Hastings who broke the Tottenham defence to drill into the bottom corner.

Wood kept the pressure on, with a bombardment of efforts on the home team’s goal, but didn’t double the lead till late on when First year Jack Vasey scored his first of the game after being released down the left from Raheem Sterling and striking with real accuracy into the roof of the net.

Tottenham applied the pressure and came close to closing the deficit after crashing the ball off the bar.

Wood soon put the game to bed, when Vasey doubled his tally for the day after a great delivery in from Max McCann, to guide his header into the far post.

Wood progress into the Quarter Finals with a convincing 3-0 away win and now await the draw for the Quarter Finals to see who they face.

Manager Luke Garrard said” very pleased with the team performance today, they showed a great togetherness and played with real quality in the final third. It was unfortunate for us to go down to ten men, but we showed a great discipline and understanding to see the game out”
