Lee Angol NB2Boreham Wood Football Club are absolutely delighted to announce that after weeks of negotiation, that we have signed 6ft 2″ striker Lee Angol, on a season long loan from Luton Town.

Lee himself is no stranger to Meadow Park or the ‘Wood’ fans, as he was on loan with us from his old club Wycombe Wanderers last season and became a real fans favourite at Boreham Wood. Lee’s record with us makes impressive reading, as he scored 7 goals in 12 starts and also got a further goal in one of his 10 substitute appearances as ‘Wood’ went on to win the Herts Senior Cup and finish
their league programme strongly.

Ian Allinson1Wood gaffer Ian Allinson said “I’m very grateful to our Chairman for his perseverance in this matter and to John Still and to Terry Harris at Luton for agreeing to the deal. Lee was always my number one summer target and both John and Terry recognise, that young players like Lee, need to be playing regular competitive football to develop. I remember when I was a pro, it was not always great to be in a pro set up all week, train full time and then have no game on a Saturday afternoon. Our arrangement with Luton, will give the
player regular football on a Saturday, as such it will be good for all parties and I fully expect Lee to improve enormously, be a top player at our level and to be amongst the top goal scorers in our division”.. Allinson concluded.
