Boreham Wood Football Club are delighted to announce that the very highly rated striker Harry White, has been signed on season long loan from league one side Barnsley.. White originally signed for the Tykes from Gloucester City for an undisclosed fee, after scoring nine times in 17 games in the Conference North. His goals fired Gloucester away from the possibility of relegation and at that point he had a host of clubs vying for his signature, before signing for the Tykes..

However prior to signing for Gloucester, the powerful forward had spent 3 years in America going through the collegiate system. Not only winning national conference titles but also a hatful of player awards, that included topping his conferences goal scoring chart.

In January of this year, White went from Barnsley to Kidderminster Harriers on loan and was the catalyst in Kiddy going on their best league run of the season. That run included beating Boreham Wood 2-0 here at Meadow Park, with Harry arguably the man of the match…

That Kiddy run saw White score three times in five appearances and they won three games on the bounce their best run all season, to give them hope of avoiding the drop..

However when the initial month loan was up, Harry was recalled by Barnsley to play in their Development squad and Kidderminster’s league form without Harry suffered, as they have not won a single league game since..

On the strikers capture, Wood Gaffer Luke Garrard said “Harry really impressed me with his work ethic, strength and commitment, when he played against us last month. So when the Chairman told me there was a possibility that he could get him I was absolutely delighted.. We all know we need goals, we all know our defence is not a problem and with the strike force I now have fit and at my disposal, I’m hoping that they will get the goals that will fire us too survival..

Chairman Danny Hunter commented, “I would like to thank the Barnsley Chief Executive Ben Mansford for all his help in getting this deal done and done with the minimum of fuss. I’m mindful not to put too much pressure on young Harry but he just might be the link we’ve been missing and his signature now gives Luke a very strong 21 man squad going into the run in”.. He concluded.
