With Brentford B having to pull out of this Saturday’s pre-season game at Meadow Park due to COVID issues, Wood’s backroom team have all been busy trying to find a suitable opponent and thankfully they have come up with two…

As such the Club is pleased to announce that this Saturday Wood will play Finishing Touch Football here at Meadow Park with a 3pm kick off. Finishing Touch Football are a showcase team headed up by former QPR, Brentford and Wycombe Wanderers player Marcus Bean, much like the Glenn Hoddle Academy and Nike Academy, giving recently released professionals and scholars the opportunity to showcase their talents in order to get themselves back into professional football. This pre-season they have played against the likes of Wingate & Finchley, Beaconsfield Town and Hayes & Yeading, winning all three games with score lines of 4-2, 6-2 and 6-1 respectively, so they will provide a good test for Garrard’s side.

On Tuesday evening, we will play a very competitive Peterborough United XI, again here at Meadow Park with a 7pm kick off. This fixture replaces our previously arranged game away to Hemel Hempstead Town, which was cancelled due to Hemel’s new astro pitch surface not being ready.

Please note: the Peterborough United XI fixture will be streamed live for a small fee, details to follow, as Luke Garrard looks to finalise the last 12 days of his pre-season and get the necessary minutes and preparation into his players before they face Wrexham in their league opener.

Details regarding the live stream against Peterborough United XI and how to purchase will be released soon.
