Luke Garrard has today added to his backroom staff with the arrival of Glen Johnson as our new goalkeeping coach.. Glen brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge in this area and holds the SFA Level 4 GK coaching licence.

Last season Glen had been working with the goalkeepers down at Braintree Town and as we know they had a fantastic season in reaching last seasons play offs. He only left Cressing Road, when the then Braintree manager Danny Cowley decided to take the Lincoln City post in a full time capacity..

Glen has over the years also worked at Chelmsford City and has international experience having worked with Pune FC in India and Springfield Demize in the USA.

On adding Glen to his backroom team Wood gaffer Luke Garrard said “Braintree’s defensive record last season was incredible. It was in fact only bettered by the league champions Cheltenham Town and I hold a lot of store on being organised and set up correctly. I will expect my back four and goalkeeper to work closely together and Glen will be a very important part of that and as part of my back room staff.. Having spoken with him extensively over the last month and having had a productive meeting with him, it just seemed a natural fit and I think he will suit me, the dressing room and this football club”.
