Boreham Wood FC can announce that we have today re-signed free agent goalkeeper Ryan Huddart on a non-contract basis.

Ryan originally joined Boreham Wood in the summer of 2018 following his release from Premier League giants Arsenal.

Prior to landing at Meadow Park, the former England youth international had experience with both Arsenal’s First Team and Premier League 2 sides, most notably being named on the Gunner’s bench in the UEFA Champions League on multiple occasions, including a group stage tie against German giants Borussia Dortmund.

After an impressive first season at Meadow Park, which culminated in multiple call ups as part of Paul Fairclough’s England C set up, Huddart joined National League rivals Bromley FC for an undisclosed fee in October 2019.

However, after less than a year at Hayes Lane, Huddart and Bromley mutually agreed to part ways in early September, leaving the former Wood man a free agent.

Upon re-signing Huddart, Gaffer Luke Garrard commented, “Ryan is a player myself and the Club have stayed in contact with since his departure to join Bromley this time last year as he was a popular individual around the Club and within our Academy set up as a goalkeeping coach.

“Unfortunately, things didn’t quite work out for Ryan at Hayes Lane, which has left him a free agent for just over a month now. With Ryan still living locally in Cockfosters, it made sense for him to rejoin our goalkeeping group alongside Nathan Ashmore and goalkeeping coach Martin Brennan to not only improve our goalkeeping group on a day-to-day basis, but to add strength in depth in that department, too.” Garrard concluded.

Ryan has been given the number 17 shirt upon his return to Meadow Park.

Welcome back, Ryan!
