Boreham Wood Football Club are delighted to announce a brand-new partnership with analyst company PlayerTek.

PlayerTek is a revolutionary GPS player tracking system that will ‘analyse and improve the performance’ of our players.

The software had been on trial with the club recently and proved to be an extremely useful tool for Luke Garrard and his management team.

The technology works through small vests that are worn by the players during training, and on match days. The data is then transmitted across to a cloud-based system after each session and can be analysed on a computer.

The software allows you to review every player in detail, or the team as a whole. PlayerTek analyses everything from workload and distance covered, to player heat-maps.

Luke Garrard commented: “Even if it adds just two percent throughout the team, then it is going to be beneficial.

“The stats and the information that you can gauge from PlayerTek is going to teach me a lot about the team in the long run. Stats don’t lie, and it is something that is becoming more and more important in the game.

“Players can’t hide when they are wearing PlayerTek, because it will tell us everything about their work rate, energy levels and the distance covered.

“We will also be using it out on the training pitch, in order to replicate a game scenario.

“It is another example of the Chairman backing myself and the dressing room, so that we can produce the optimum, both on-and-off the pitch.”
