CONOR CLIFFORD

Boreham Wood FC are delighted to announce to our supporters, the signing of Midfielder Conor Clifford following his release from Southend United.

Conor began his career at Chelsea, but despite not making a first team appearance for the blues, he made over 30 football league appearances in total whilst on loan at several league clubs.

After spending over four years at Chelsea, Conor decided to move on and signed a 2 year deal with Southend United. He went on to make 36 appearances for the shrimpers before being loaned to Barnet FC for the latter part of Barnet’s title winning 2014/15 season.

Conor made 13 appearances in Barnet’s run in and was very influential in getting the Bee’s over the line in winning the Conference National title.

Commenting on the clubs latest signing Gaffer Ian Allinson said ” Conor is obviously a talented boy with a good pedigree. In truth at this stage of pre season to find a player of his quality available makes it a great signing. He’ll go straight into my squad for Saturday and having won the title with Barnet last season will know exactly what to expect when Halifax arrive in town..

Nineteen year old Lucas who has made just one appearance for the Gas, is well known to the Wood supporters from his loan spell at Weston Super mare last season, where he scored 13 goals in just 21 appearances..

Gaffer Ian Allinson said “I’ve kept tabs on Jamie for a while now and I am grateful to Darrell Clarke the Bristol Rovers gaffer for his help in making this loan deal happen. Jamie is big, strong and very hardworking, he also has an eye for a goal and will fit in great here. Like Conor Clifford he will go straight into the squad for Saturdays game and will give me options and great competition for places.
