Boreham Wood FC would like to thank the Wood Army, thank the whole Town and thank the wider community for your support throughout the season and the greatest ever FA Cup run in the Club’s 74-year history. This has shown itself once again, with every available match ticket and coach seat for the AFC Bournemouth game on Sunday now SOLD OUT.
With our 1,380 ticket allocation and all coach travel now fully sold out, the stage is now set for the Wood players, the Wood Army and our united Town and Community, to try and achieve the impossible, try and achieve the unimaginable and cause an upset that nobody believes is possible…
We as a Club of course accept that we are huge, huge underdogs, we also understand that we sit a full 72 places under Championship highfliers AFC Bournemouth and in any sensible conversation we have no chance but this is the FA Cup – our Chairman often quotes “God loves a trier”, and our Club mirrors that ethos, so we’ll be giving it everything we’ve got and if we’re not quite good enough on the day, so be it… If that’s the case, we know we’ll have fought the good fight, we’ll have wiped our mouths with good grace and we’ll arrive back in the Wood with your support in our hearts, with our heads held high and we’ll remain unbowed knowing though we’ve lost a game of football, we’ve still got our memories and we’ve got a league campaign to get back to concentrate on.
