The Wood Army, and the whole of Boreham Wood Football Club, really do believe that Football is coming home!

Many of the Wood Army are in Russia enjoying this incredible World Cup, which they tell us has been exceptionally run and like nothing they have ever seen before.

The Chairman, his son’s Billy, Matthew, Micky, Charlie and Daniel, and manager Luke Garrard were all out in Samara for the historic 2-0 Quarter Final victory over the mashed Swedes!

Along the way they have met former players, pundits, famous referees, player’s families and famous lookalikes, who are all out there enjoying everything that the Russian World Cup has to offer.

The people of Russia have been incredibly friendly and welcoming, showing them everything that their country has to offer. The country’s architecture is fascinating, while visits to the Kremlin and the Bolshoihave been enjoyed by many.

While, the atmosphere of the matches has been beyond their wildest dreams, and also incredibly well organised and safe.

Members of the Wood Army who have been watching from England have also been truly gripped by World Cup fever – shouting from the streets and singing Baddiel, Skinner and The Lighting Seeds’ England classic “Three Lions” at all hours.

They also enjoyed the victory over Sweden at Meadow Park, watching it on the Gallery Suite’s six televisions, with children eating their free Sausage and Chips and drinking their free Lemonade and Coca Cola.

Everyone at Meadow Park went wild when England scored against the Swedes and continued partying long after the final whistle in the Gallery Suite, with renditions of ‘Three Lions’, ‘Vindaloo’, ‘World in Motion’ and many, many more England classics.

So, from all at BWFC, GOOD LUCK ENGLAND, GOOD LUCK GARETH, GOOD LUCK LADS, LET’S BRING FOOTBALL HOME!
