Boreham Wood FC’s community arm, namely the Boreham Wood Community Trust, is delighted to announce that once again the National League Trust will be supporting our community projects for the 2019/20 season following acceptance of our grant application last week.

The grant allows the Boreham Wood Community Trust to continue engaging with local community groups, as well as promote Boreham Wood FC as a community club. The National League Trust in partnership with the National League, the Premier League and the Professional Footballers’ Association provides grant assistance for all affiliated National League sides towards their community projects throughout the National League, National League North and National League South divisions. The Premier League and the PFA have generously committed to support the Trust until 2022.

With the community team’s ongoing projects, including initiatives such as weekly football coaching onsite at Boreham Wood FC for local children, hosting a weekly weight loss football league in partnership with ‘Man v Fat’, weekly specialised disability training sessions and also tournaments for a multitude of different community groups such as, local schools, local youth teams and our local disability groups. The Boreham Wood Community Trust is delighted to be eligible for £19,500 in grant support from the National League Trust.

Boreham Wood FC are thrilled that the grants have allowed our community department to build strong foundations in the local community with schools and other community groups, with some amazing success stories.

Upon receiving the news that our grant application had again been successful, Community Manager Connor Smith commented, “We are thrilled to once again receive grant support from our partners at the National League Trust. Their help towards our community projects since our promotion to the Conference South in 2010 has been outstanding. The grant support helps us consolidate the work we are doing in the community each year, as well as help grow new projects year on year.

“This funding allows for days such as our Xmas dinner for our local disability groups we held recently, among many other initiatives, which can help bring the community together and brings an amazing amount of joy to everyone who attends. Thanks must go to the National League Trust for continuing to help us to fund our existing projects and also aiding us to keep growing our existing community schemes.”

Thank you again to The National League Trust, as well as the Premier League and the Professional Footballer’s Association for your continued support!
