Boreham Wood Reserves    4 – 0    AFC Hayes Reserves

Suburban Football League North Division

Another familiar result for Wood’s Reserves last weekend as they marched on to another win and another 4 – 0 score line.
It was a hard fought game with AFC Hayes pressing early and although Wood created ample chances in the first half the only goal came from Jordan Lawal.    Martin Flannery broke up a Hayes attack on the halfway line and played in Lawal who in turn ran through to score his second in successive games after the midweek ECFA Cup win.
Eddie Adjei scored minutes after the interval with a superb finish, using the outside of his left foot to bend the loose ball into the back of the net.    Two more one-on-one’s with the ‘keeper gave Wood the other two goals.    One from “Man of the Match” Liam Griffin and another from Adjei.    That’s fourteen games unbeaten on the run and only one of those games didn’t result in a win.

With eight games left in the League Wood still have everything to play for, and both second place Camberley and third placed Harefield United, still to play twice each (Home and Away).

Manager Ryan Kirby said “Today’s result was massively important especially after Camberley were beaten in midweek.    We have now got ourselves into a very strong position and we have a big month coming up in March, travelling to Camberley and playing Harefield United twice.    It is now paramount we keep our run together and take the results we need to finish our campaign with the League title.”
