Boreham Wood Football Club are delighted to announce the permanent signing of the experienced and talented midfielder Jai Reason from league rivals Eastleigh.

Jai is now a seasoned campaigner at National League level, but started off in the Academy at Ipswich Town, before quickly coming through the ranks and signing as a professional in 2008.

The following season the player was loaned to Cambridge United and, after a successful stint with the U’s, his loan move was turned into a permanent one.

From Cambridge, Jai then moved onto Crawley Town in 2010, before moving onto Braintree Town. At Braintree he won the Conference South title with in 2011 and following his fine performances throughout that title winning season, he received a very good offer to move to Eastleigh in 2012.

Since then Jai has made himself a firm favourite with the ‘Spitfire’ fans on the south coast and after four seasons of committed performances and more than just a few key goals, they will we think be sorry to see him go.

On getting the deal done, Wood gaffer Luke Garrard said “I would like to welcome Jai to the club and believe he will fit in very quickly with the lads and our work ethic here. He’s got great ability and great awareness and he’s a player I’ve long since admired. He will go straight into our squad for the Sutton game this Saturday and he replaces the recent loss of Conor Clifford.

Garrard continued “I am in truth just glad the January transfer window has now closed and want to thank the Chairman for turning down various offers in this window and keeping every player I want at the club. He’s also allowed me to strengthen in key areas, with the signings of Jason Williams, Tom Hitchcock and now Jai Reason. I hope we can now all settle down, get the team and supporters at it again and let’s try and finish the season strongly”..
