Wood continue their prestigious pre season scheduled with games against a Reading XI this Saturday, before the visit of Gianfranco Zola’s Watford the following Tuesday.

In PartnershipWood through their PASE scheme have entered into a partnership with Reading Football Club, who like Wood run one of the most successful Academy programmes in the country at their respective levels. Wood, under the guidance of Coaches Luke Garrard, Mario Noto and Chez Isaac have enjoyed success winning seven League titles in as many years whilst making it through to the First Round Proper of the F A Youth Cup on several occasions.

Reading can boast an Academy side that finished second in the Premiership Elite League last season, with eight of their Academy players making full premiership debuts, scoring eight top flight goals between them. It promises to be another stern test for Ian Allinson’s side who featured six PASE scheme players in their last friendly match against a full strength Brentford side, going down 1-3 on the night to the Championship side.

It is then the turn of our nearest full time neighbours Watford to grace the field at Meadow Park. Having secured the exclusive contracts of eight Udinese players as well as three from Granada, taking the total number of new additions at Vicarage Road to 14 during pre season this will be Zola’s last chance to run the rule over his squad before their season opener the following Saturday at Birmingham.

Tickets are on sale for the Watford game from our box office www.bwfcboxoffice.co.uk or by calling the club on 02089535097. Tickets are priced at £12 for Adults and £6 U16/OAPS. Ticket prices will increase by £1 on the day.
