This Saturday in form Dorchester Town visit Meadow Park as Wood look to build upon their recent improved run of form.    The return of goalkeeper Elvijs Putnins and the recent additions of striker Omer Riza and midfielder Graeme Montgomery have certainly boosted Ian Allinson’s side’s hopes of a top half finish this Season.

In fact Allinson has targeted seventh, thereby heading the list of teams “just outside the Play-off chasers”.

“We are growing as a Squad and if we can cement deals with those we feel are capable of taking us one step further next Season we will hit the ground running I am sure”.

The Magpies have seen their fortunes turned around after dismissing Manager Ashley Vickers earlier this Season.    His reign saw the side pick up just five wins from sixteen games. Enter Porstmouth legend Alan Knight, a London born goalkeeper who made a club record 683 appearances the south coast side.    His record speaks for itself.    Town have lost just two of their last fifteen League matches and are unbeaten on the road since he took the reigns at the end of October.

The Dorset side sit currently eighth in the table with forty five points from thirty one games, whilst Wood are twelfth with forty points from thirty games.

Wood will be without the suspended Charlie O’Loughlin who also misses Tuesday’s ground breaking trip to Cornwall when Wood face Truro City.

Midfielder Sam Cox is according to Allinson “fifty-fifty to make the starting line-up Saturday” as he recovers from injury.

Boreham Wood versus Dorchester Town, Saturday 10 March, Kick Off 3pm.
