Boreham Wood FC are more than excited to finally announce our full pre-season friendly schedule that will prepare the management, players and staff ahead of the new 2022/23 Vanarama National League season.

The Club can also confirm our pre-season ticket pricing, including a significantly discounted pre-season ticket bundle for all four home pre-season friendlies at the LV BET Stadium Meadow Park, yet another initiative implemented by our ticketing team to create affordable football opportunities amidst the growing cost of living crisis.

Pre-season will kick off in the normal way with three days of testing on the 28th, 29th and 30th of June, before we travel to our now customary training camp down in Barnstable from July 2nd to July 7th, where the management, staff and players are looked after by our incredible friends from the Brend Hotel Group, who we believe own the best independent Hotel Group in the Devon and Cornwall area.

We will then come back to play against some of our very good friends within the Premier League… First up are Brentford, quickly followed by a strong West Ham United side, then a Chelsea XI will visit, before our partners from Arsenal then bring an XI side to us on the last Saturday in July.

For everyone’s information, we already know that our friends at Brentford will be bringing a full first team squad to us, whilst West Ham United are playing two games on that Tuesday evening and will split their first team across those two fixtures, with strong squads going to ourselves and Ipswich Town. That said, we’ve been assured that the Hammers will be bringing a very strong first team squad, which we hope will include the likes of Declan Rice, amongst others.

In terms of the players that make up both the Chelsea and Arsenal squads, we will know nearer the time the strength of those squads and so, for transparency, these fixtures will only be advertised as “XI” fixtures until their strength is better known.

Those Clubs make up an incredible home pre-season programme with no fewer than four London-based Premier League sides visiting the LV BET Stadium Meadow Park throughout July. As a Club, we believe our pitch and associated facilities create an environment that our good friends at those Clubs enjoy and it should create a great buzz for our season ticket holders, our local schools, our town and our community alike.

Please note: All monies raised from our pre-season programme will go toward Luke Garrard’s first team budget and our Community Trust’s projects.

Away fixtures have also been scheduled with us visiting Hitchin Town, Dartford and Potters Bar Town.
