Following the return to Meadow Park of Luke Garrard and his team from their training camp in Devon, we are delighted to confirm the extension of our partnership with the Brend Hotel Group, where they stayed.
The Boreham Wood players and management staff have just enjoyed a week-long intensive training camp, whilst staying in the luxury Barnstaple Hotel in Devon.
The Barnstaple Hotel in Devon, which was home to our first team last week, is part of the Brend hotel Group and was the winner of AA’s ‘Hotel Group of the Year’ in 2015/16.
The Brend Group are an amazing family-built group of hotels, who through the friendship of John Brend, his family, and our Chairman, have sponsored Boreham Wood for the last five-years.
In return, they receive brand exposure through advertising boards at Meadow Park and links on our website. While, Boreham Wood receive favourable rates when staying at their award-winning hotels.
The company are also sponsors of our flagship annual youth tournament, which is taking place over these two weeks.
The Barnstaple hotel was in the perfect location for our training camp in North Devon. It is on the doorstep of the fabulous golden sands of Croyde, Saunton and Woolacombe and just a 15-minute walk to the Barnstaple town centre.
It proved to be the ideal location for our players and management as we fostered camaraderie and team spirit.
On their stay at the hotel, Boreham Wood manager Luke Garrard commented: “The thing for me, was that it was exactly the same staff as last year, which tells you that they are happy in their workplace, they couldn’t do enough for us.
“The Barnstaple Hotel and the Brend Group have been massive for us. The food and the way they go about their jobs, was exemplary.
“They could not do enough for us and they made our stay easy, which enabled us to really focus on what we wanted to do, in terms of putting in the work on the football pitches.”
The five-year partnership between the hotel and the football club is thanks to the long-standing friendship of Boreham Wood chairman Danny Hunter and Brend Group managing director John Brend.
John Brend commented: “The partnership began due to our friendship with Boreham Wood Chairman Danny Hunter and his partner Mandee Morris and it has blossomed ever since.
“The Boreham Wood first team now travel down to Barnstaple each year for a week’s intensive training camp and it is a pleasure to have them all around.
“It is an exciting football club who are on the up and we look forward to many more years of both partnering with the club and welcoming their players and management team to the hotel.”
