TIRYAKI

Boreham Wood football club are delighted to announce the signing of sought after striker Mustafa Tiryaki. Mustafa had been training as a free agent with Luton Town in pre season and had been on the Woods radar for the last 10 weeks, following his departure from Goztepe in Turkey.

Tiryaki who started his career at Maidenhead United back in 2008, scoring 10 goals in 20 appearances. His form though had caught the eye of several clubs and though he had options for his signature, he opted to sign for Havant and Waterlooville. He remained with the Hampshire outfit for two years finding the net 23 times in 75 games.

Tiryaki then made a move up the footballing ladder, by signing for the then football league club Tranmere Rovers in 2011.. Following the expiration of his Tranmere contract he secured a big money move to Turkey, firstly spending two seasons with 1461 Trazpon scoring 11 times in 54 appearances and then moving to Goztepe in 2014 but after spending a year with them he returned to the UK.

Tiryaki has spent the entirety of this summer training and playing with the Luton Town first team squad, featuring in a number of friendlies. In one such game he impressed ‘Wood’ boss Ian Allinson, while playing in the Boreham Wood v Luton game way back in July..

On his capture Wood gaffer Ian Allinson said “I’m very happy to bring Mustafa here and thought we’d secured his services on a number of occasions. I’m just happy our patience has paid off and that we’ve finally got the deal over the line”..

“Mustafa is big, strong and runs the channels well, he also gives me options to play him either as a lone striker or in a two and our squad needs that”..

Allinson concluded “We now just need to get his international clearance through asap and he can go straight into my squad. As always I’m very thankful to our Chairman for backing me on this and understanding this signing really helps me rebalance our squad after losing striker Jamie Lucas to a hamstring up at Tranmere.
