Boreham Wood Football Club are delighted to announce that another two of their Under 19 PASE players, Charlie Hunter and Ruddock Yala, have been selected to represent the English College’s Football Association Under, this season.

Both were successful after coming through a third trial, with the last one being held at Lilleshall – the National Sports Centre in Shropshire.

Their International fixture programme will open in January, where they will play two games against the Welsh School’s FA and the Welsh College’s FA. Before travelling to Italy in March, to play in an International European tournament, where they will compete against the likes of Italy, Slovenia, Slovakia and Romania, amongst others.

This continues a successful path trod by other young ‘Wood’ PASE Academy players who have represented the ECFA over the last three seasons. Namely Jon Clements, Jay Brett, Bradley Fraser and Jordan Lawal, who have all represented England Colleges, with distinction during this time.

Boreham Wood’s Head PASE Academy Coach, Luke Garrard, said “The boys have worked tremendously hard for their England call ups. Both boys have the right Attitude, Discipline and Desire, and showed it throughout the trial process, and now their ability has been recognised, so I am naturally very pleased for the boys and our coaching staff.

Garrard went on to say “It’s an exciting time to be at the Club, with another two new England internationals on our books, Academy boys playing at Conference South level, as well as PASE graduate Pelly Ruddock recently being sold to West Ham United – The infrastructure and investment in the Scheme is only improving and making us stronger, and I’m pleased to play such a leading role in our young players progression.”
